With ‘nothing to eat’ the other day… (there is always so much food to eat – there was just nothing ticking the sweet (chocolate) box!), I decided to whip up this Choc Banana Smoothie which really hit the spot.
It’s ridiculously quick to prepare and is perfect when you have absolutely no time for baking or rolling Little Chocolate Jaffa Balls – see earlier posts. It’s completely versatile too – e.g. you can use whatever type of milk you like.
It has extra sweetness from the fresh date (which is totally optional) and the chia seeds provide a lovely high-antioxident and low-calorie natural thickener too.
Go on, try it!
- 1/2 banana
- 1 tbsp cacao
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 fresh date
- 1&1/2 cups milk*
*I used rice milk, but any milk will do.
Combine all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth.
- Try it with my homemade Almond Milk recipe.
- Add a handful of ice if you’d like it a little more chilled.
- Extra chia seeds to garnish
- Turn it into a meal-on-the-run with an extra 1/2 banana and 1 tbsp of LSA too.
