Healthy Chocolate Frappe – the Ultimate Cold Beverage

This Healthy Chocolate Frappe is the ultimate of cold beverages. It’s majestic, it’s thirst and hunger quenching. It’s made with some seriously healthy, yet simple ingredients (nothing too hard to source for those without easy access to specialist health food stores), and it’s down-right easy to make, taking only minutes to prepare.
Ingredients include: banana, ice, nuts (but you can leave them out if you wish), coconut or almond milk, raw cacao and vanilla. Just whiz it all together in a powerful machine like a Vitamix, Thermomix or high-powered blender (which can breakdown ice) and you’ve got yourself possibly the healthiest Chocolate Frappe on earth.
This Frappe is sweet, due to the ripe banana, high in protein due to the nuts and high in antioxidants due to the raw cacao powder. It’s thirst quenching qualities come from the ice and it’s overall flavour is enhanced by the natural vanilla.
It’s completely free of added sugar and dairy and is essentially anti-inflammatory. It will make you feel content, but not full. It will leave you satisfied, but without needing more. It will be gentle on your digestive tract and give you energy right through until your next meal. But most of all, it tastes so good, so cool on the lips, sweet, nutty and satisfyingly perfect.

Blending Time: <1 minute
- 1 frozen ripe banana
- 1 cup ice
- 1/4 cup coconut milk (or almond milk)
- 1/4 cup macadamia or hazelnuts*
- 1 tbsp raw cacao powder
- pinch vanilla powder (or 1 tsp vanilla extract or paste)
*Got a nut allergy? – omit completely, or try 1/4 cup shredded coconut
- Add all ingredients to a Vitamix/blender and whiz until just smooth.
- Pour into a cup and serve immediately.
